one year of sunshine

Happy Birthday to my blog!!! Thanks to all of my readers for your kind words and large doses of encouragement. Blogging has been a faithful source of motivation for me to stay creative even when things aren't very sunshiny. Looking forward to much more blogging and creative living in the days to come. In honor of my blog's birthday we're having some peanut butter cake and coffee. Have a nice day and thanks again for stopping by! Love, me.

passing time

Good morning! The floor man is putting floors in our house today. The floor man has no idea how much I appreciate him. So we've been passing time at the playground and the library and pet shops and every place in between that looks like it might provide 10 minutes of fun. I've also been working on my mad crochet skills while the kids nap each afternoon. I'm almost finished with Millie G.'s scarf. She wanted strawberries... so here you have it! Enjoy your Tuesday.

so we moved

Let me explain. We moved to Georgia. We bought a house in Georgia. Seems simple enough, right? WRONG! and again i say... WRONG! Let's start with the positives... 1. St. Simon's Island, Georgia is GORGEOUS!!! 2. Living near family is beyond wonderful. 3. We got a sweet deal on the house. Here's where it gets interesting. We got a sweet deal on the house BECAUSE... some dude lived in the house for 10 years and probably smoked 20 packs of cigarettes inside the house every single day that he lived here. So basically the entire house was brown from nasty smoky-ness. So the past 15 days have been filled with ripping out flooring and painting walls and replacing literally EVERYthing that existed. It's kind of fun because we get to do whatever we want with the house. It's kind of NOT fun because we've done most of the work ourselves and it's taking FOREVER. So Charlie's sister and her husband their 2 kids have taken us in for the past few weeks. Their house is big and gorgeous... but it's deep in the backwoods of south Georgia which means no internet access (or phone service)... which means no blogging. Sad. So until we get into our new home, blogging will be pretty scarce. sorry!!! I have been updating photos on facebook during my daily starbucks run in "the city." We should be all moved in by the end of next week. Keep checking back! Can't wait to show before and after pics of the house soon! PS...You will die if you smoke a lot of cigarettes like the dude that we bought our house from. Here's a pic of the kids helping get the house ready...
