mucho circus fun

The circus came to town! I scored three free kid tickets and two adult discount coupons, so we loaded up the kids and headed over to the big top. Charlie had a late meeting so our friend Hannah came along to help me. I like the circus so much.
If you've known me for five minutes or longer, you know how much I LOVE all things Mexico. I love the people and the country and the food and the Spanish language. So obviously I was outside of my mind when I found out the Cole Brothers Circus is a traveling circus from Mexico! The performers were so adorable.
We're exhausted since we got home very late last night. All three kids slept until 8:30 this morning... I haven't slept until 8:30 in six years! Happy lazy day!

date night and good phone apps

I downloaded a Toy Camera app to my new non-iPhone phone. I like it and I wish I could find a lens that takes pics like this for my big camera. That would be special.
Sushi at Fancy Q's (always). Movies (The Adjustment Bureau... good). Coffee and a crappy band. Desserts with pals. Happy date night!

for my sister

I talked to my sister, val, on the phone tonight. She said, "i want to see some pictures of you and Charlie. not just the kids all the time." So here ya go... a picture of me and his royal hotness.
Hey! Exciting news alert! I got a new phone. I'm debating on whether I should throw my iPhone 3g in the lake behind our house or in the toilet in the blue bathroom. Either one is fine. The new phone is amazing so far. I think we'll get along famously. And, AND it's a wi-fi hot spot SOOOOO we can get internet inside our house now! Just like most normal people in the world. Hearts and happiness!!!

the story of the little broken leg

One night, the Turner children were enjoying lots of trampoline happiness...
Then this happened...
Baby Stella Belle was rushed to the local emergency room where a doctor took a long look at the x-ray and said, "Well... it aint broke. We'll wrap it up for a few days and she should be back up running around by the end of the week."
A week passed and Baby Stella Belle was NOT running on her leg. Or walking. Or even standing. She would cry if anyone touched it or looked at it or talked about it. The whole family thought she was being a teeny bit dramatic...
We finally decided to go to a "non-emergency-room doctor" for a second opinion. He took a look at his fancy digital x-ray and said...
So baby Stella Belle picked out a pretty pink cast and the whole family apologized for calling her a drama queen. With a little rest and a "get well package" from Mimmee, she should be fine in a few weeks.
The end.

spring is near

The sun is shining. The birds are chirping. The lip gloss and cheek-shimmer are being applied with all diligence...
Happy sunshine!

very exciting. very exciting.

We had an action-packed weekend that ended with a tiny bit of drama...
This is how little Dean and Millie g. described it...
Millie g.: "We were playing the statue game on the trampoline."
Little Dean: "It was an accident."
Millie g.: "Rose (their adorable friend) bounced Dean up in the air. Really high in the sky. Like right beside the trees."
Little Dean: "It was an accident."
Millie g.: "Then Dean landed on Stella Belle's knee with his whole body."
Little Dean: "IT WAS AN ACCIDENT."
Millie g.: "It was an accident."

So baby Stella Belle has her first major injury. We will go back later this week to possibly get a "hard cast" put on. They couldn't quite tell if it was broken or not from the x-rays. Either way, we'll be carrying her around like the queen of Sheeba for the next few weeks. Yay.
