scrap fabric necklaces

This is a fast and easy project for your afternoon. My girls love helping make these necklaces. You need a long strip of scrap fabric (probably the length of your arm or a little longer... I'm not really an "exact measurement" kind of person). And some spare round beads.
I used old round beads (from those giant Mardi Gras necklaces), smooth rocks from and old necklace, and rocks from the backyard. Sew the fabric lengthwise with right sides together then flip it inside out. Tie a knot where you would like to start the beads, the slide a bead down to the knot. Another knot, another bead, another knot, another bead... continue until you've got beads all the way around. Tie a knot at the very end to hold the last bead and tie at the neck.
A few of mine weren't long enough so I sewed a piece of ribbon to each end. And there you have it! Fabulous spring necklaces. Happy crafting!
