I'm on day 5 of a 10 day juice fast. I'm starving. I'm doing the juice fast for three reasons... Number one, I watched a documentary call "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead" and my interest was sparked. Number two, I've heard that 10 day juice fasts do wonders for your skin. Number three, it's good to detox your system every now and then. I usually do a three day juice fast, but this time I decided to go with 10 days and see how it goes.
This has been my lunch for the past five days. Spinach, cucumber and lime. I cut the cucumber in half and peel it, then I peel the lime. I put two handfuls of spinach leaves, the peeled cucumber and the whole lime (minus the peel) into my Nutri Bullet (purchased from an info-mercial). Add water, flax oil and blend for thirty seconds. It taste exactly like a lime (kinda sour), but with a little more texture.
For breakfast and dinner I mix in tons more veggies and sweeter fruits (pears and apples) to make a "heartier" juice. I like the Nutri Bullet because it creates more of a juicy texture than a blender but creates less mess than a juicer. Nutri Bullet did not pay me to say that... but they can if they want.
The first day was the worst, I had a headache from no coffee and I was super hungry. The second day was a little better, but I thought about chicken bacon ranch pizza the whole day. The third day was about the same as the second day. The fourth day I got really hungry about 2pm and ate some Wholly Salsa with a spoon. Today is a little better, drinking lots of water. I will keep you updated with the final results.

365 days of exercise... week 5
Hello! So my friend teaches classes at a gym in our area and she gave me a free pass for a few weeks. I've had mixed feelings about gym membership at this point in my life. With four children, a homeschool "routine" and busy afternoons, I wanted to see if driving to the gym would be worth the hassle. I've concluded that I do like the interruption-free workout time and the social aspect of body sculpting classes with other giggly women, but getting everyone dressed and driving to the gym was a little frustrating. Also, I feel like I work out harder at home because I'm not trying to be cute and chatty with my friends. Anyhoo, I'm thankful for the change of scenery this week and it didn't cost any dollars.

365 days of exercise... week one
Hello! And a warm welcome to the year 2013. I've made my list of challenges for this new year. I love new year's goals and this is one that I'm super excited about. I'm challenging myself to do some sort of exercise every single day this year. I'm an exercise-ish person anyway, so I thought it may be fun to see if I could stick to it. I'm not trying to lose weight or make my body look drastically different, I just like physical activity and I feel better when I make myself do it. I also want to encourage any other thirty-something homeschool mothers of four children with a non functioning thyroid that YOU CAN DO THIS! You can exercise! We don't have a gym membership and I'm almost always with my children, so this a real life person challenging her real life self to do something good. Check back weekly-ish to see my daily pics. I don't want to get on instagram's nerves by posting my daily workouts, so I'll just share them here as often as I can. Join along with me! Do it!
Day 1. 45 minute walk with Stella Belle in the stroller
Day 2. Early morning kickboxing DVD
Day 3. Zumba DVD (with the kids)
Day 4. Yoga X (while the kids watched a movie)
Day 5. 30 minute run/walk (no kids)
Day 6. 100 situps & 30 push ups with Stella Belle on my back
